For CPAs and Enrolled Agents: Help Your Tax Clients With Their Home Financing
Every year you go through your clients’ income, deductions, and long-term goals line by line. When those clients buy a home or refinance, you already understand their finances better than any loan officer they would find on their own.
As a licensed Cypher Partner with Wymac Capital, you can originate those loans yourself, with Wymac’s training, lender access, processing, and technology behind you.
Why the Model Fits a Tax Practice
You already have the documents. Tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, and business financials are central to qualifying a borrower. You know them well.
You can spot the right time. Refinancing, buying, and tapping home equity all have tax effects. You can raise financing at the moment it makes sense for the client.
Self-employed clients need someone who understands them. Business owners and self-employed borrowers often find qualifying for a mortgage confusing. Your knowledge of their returns is especially valuable here.
It fits the off-season. Mortgage work can help balance a practice whose workload peaks around tax deadlines.

Professional Standards Come First
CPAs and EAs work under professional and ethical rules that may affect commission arrangements, disclosure, and independence. These may include the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, your state board of accountancy’s rules, and, for enrolled agents, IRS Circular 230. Some of these rules restrict commissions from clients for whom you perform certain services, such as attest engagements. Before you become a Cypher Partner, please review your own obligations with your professional body or advisor.
Fixed, Disclosed Compensation
Cypher Partners earn a fixed, transparent commission for the origination work they perform. It is structured to comply with the loan originator compensation rules of the Dodd-Frank Act and Regulation Z, and it is disclosed to the consumer. On consumer mortgage loans covered by those rules, it does not vary with the interest rate or other loan terms. We share full compensation details with prospective partners after they contact us. It appears in the loan disclosures the lender issues to your client.
